  • Tricks -  A three week class!
  • ​Have fun with your pup while earning a title!
  • Your dog will come home tired from this very active class. 
  • Tricks include opening doors, putting away toys, hide & seek
  • and other multi-step behaviors. Learn to shape your dog’s
  • actions for retrieving, holding, carrying, and pivoting! 
  • Deb will work with each team individually.  
  • All levels from Beginner to Advanced!

Manners  
​​​For dogs 7 months and up 
Manners! Is your dog in need of some help? 
 We'll cover come when called, walking on leash and listening.
Then we add distractions to increase your dog's ability to focus on you.
Working in a group situation makes your dog a better dog!

November AKC Fit Dog Walk

Piscatagua Obedience Club  is proud to be a FIT DOG Club!
The goal of a FIT DOG Club is to promote health and fitness for dogs and their owners, meet new people, and have fun. Piscataqua Obedience Club will focus on 4 fitness walks per year at different locations.  In the fitness walks dogs and owners may participate at their own individual skill level. You can walk a mile or three! 
You will also receive paperwork that can go towards your Fit Dog title.



When:  Saturday, November 8th, 2025
Trail:  Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park
Location:  Freeport, ME

Time: 9 a.m.
Distance: Can vary depending upon your preference.
Cost:  $10

Really Reliable Recalls & Super Steady Stays  
This 3 week class covers Reliable Recalls and Steady Stays
Pups from 6 months to 16 years can benefit from this class!

If you want your dog to always come when you call, this
is the class for you (and them!) Your dog will learn to come
to you in any situation!

Games and play along with consistent training will
motivate your pup while homework will
​help you polish your pup's performance!

AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA)
 CGC Advanced is offered sporadically throughout the year so don’t miss this
opportunity.


Take your AKC CGC skills to the next level.
​​​For dogs that have successfully completed the CGC class, this class reinforces the
behaviors covered in that class: coming when called, walking on leash,
staying, and listening, all while working with real-life distractions. The class will meet
at off-site venues to include stores, parks and other public spaces.
The additional distractions make your dog more reliable and a better citizen!

Sport Sampler!
Curious about dog sports and not sure where to start?
In this 5 week class we will try out: 
  • Agility foundations
  • Rally Obedience
  • Tricks
  • Scentwork
  • Weight Pull
Each week we will trying something new.
Get your toes wet in each sport to see what you and your dog enjoy
before you sign up for a five week class in a particular sport. 

No matter the sport, we will be having fun, building focus,
and inspiring teamwork in your canine companion
.

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) 
We'll review and practice the 10 items on the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. 
This includes: Sitting politely for petting, Walking on a loose leash through a
crowd, as well as supervised separation among others.  There will also be an

A competition training class!
Rear end awareness, working away from
the handler, targeting,

 An introductory competition obedience day class !
Beginner Novice  
Beginner Novice is an optional titling competition Obedience class. In this structured class all exercises are conducted  on leash except for the recall. Praise is encourage!  In the Beginner Novice class your dog will (start) learn to walk at heel on a leash, act mannerly while being petted, performing a stay and coming when called.  ALL dogs, including mixed-breeds, are eligible to compete in AKC Obedience trials through AKC Canine Partners.  This class is also great practice for your dog's manners

Intro to Rally  -an evening class
Want to do more with your dog and build on the skills learned in beginner class?  This class is a great way to incorporate and reinforce the basic skills of attention, sitting, heeling, and recalls.  The goal will be to build a stronger bond as a team while learning more about the AKC companion sport of Rally.  This class is meant for beginners with limited or no experience in competitive rally/obedience. This course will cover Novice signs and the general procedures of getting started in earning titles.  Open to mixed and pure breed dogs.

Heeling Seminar 

This seminar focuses on formal heeling skills for obedience and rally.
Cone work, rear end awareness, in line heeling and other skills will
be addressed.  This seminar will improve your scores and make you
more comfortable heeling.

Open Obedience (CDX) Problem Solving

This 2 hour seminar will address any handler or dog issues with
open obedience exercises.  Jumping, dumbbell work, retrieves, command
discrimination, drop on recall - the exercises will
depend on the participants.  
 Bring your concerns and improve your performance !

Manners Refresher - a 3 week class 
For ages 9 months and older

Does your teenage dog think he's all grown up and no longer needs to behave?
Does your older dog need a refresher?
This class requires that your dog know the sit and down commands and have
and have an understanding of stay.

The class focuses on issues that most dogs need - polite leashed walking,
manners around other dogs and people, and most of all listening to you!
Your specific questions will be addressed by the instructor.
This class is not for reactive dogs. 
Please email us if you have a reactive dog.
