Nose Work
In this class you and your dog will learn the basics of K9 Nose Work. Nose Work is a
sport where your dog uses the power of their nose, with the hunting skills your dog
already has, to find treats. This is a class for all dogs - shy dogs learn to build
confidence, reactive dogs learn to hunt without any other dogs present, senior dogs can
still play, and young dogs learn to focus.  During the search the handler does very little
other than follow the dog and reinforce the dog at the very moment the dog finds the
treat. In fact, the less the handler does, the better

This is the dogs game and they love it! Dogs will learn to search in
boxes and will progress to searching interiors, exteriors and vehicles.

Nose Work is taught by a NACSW Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI). The
instructor has Elite Championships with three dogs in NACSW. The instructor trials with
her own dogs and continues to expand her knowledge by attending
Nose Work seminars and workshops throughout the year. Private lesson are also available.

Dogs work one at a time from their owner’s vehicle.
Dogs in season wearing diapers may take NW classes.
Dogs who are dog reactive may take class.
Dogs who are people reactive may not join the class.

To register for class, contact
[email protected] with NW in the title of the email.

Current students are given first preference in each new session.

will also be time to work on specific skills that an individual handler finds challenging.
All dogs must be working on paired, or odor only challenges.
